WENTWORTH PARISH COUNCIL ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING Held in the Mechanics Institute Wentworth On Monday 17th MAY 2010 at 6.30pm 2540. Election of Chairman and Deputy Chairman Councillor Hunton resigned as Chairman 2541. Councillor Hunton was nominated for the role of Chairman Proposed Councillor Lomas Seconded Councillor Stevenson Agreed by unanimous vote Councillor Hunton was elected Chairman for a further term 2542. Councillor Lomas was nominated for the role of Deputy Chairman Proposed Councillor Stevenson Seconded Councillor Crawford Agreed by unanimous vote Councillor Lomas was elected Deputy Chairman 2543. Casual Vacancy Mr Ernest Bradley accepted the post of member for Nether Haugh and joined the meeting as a member at 6.40pm 2546. Minutes The minutes of the meeting held on 12th April 2010 were accepted as a true record and were authorised to be signed by the Chairman Proposed Councillor Crawford Seconded Councillor Lomas Matters Arising 2547. Wentworth Estates has accepted the proposed two stage rent increase for the Harley playing field. 2548. The telephone kiosk in Wentworth has now formally been adopted. The blacksmith is to look at fitting a lock and the local window cleaner is to be asked to include it on his round. It was noted that the Nether Haugh phone kiosk has had the telephone equipment removed, clerk to clarify. 2549. A further response has been received from RMBC on the matter of attendance at parish council meetings. The RMBC stance remains the same, that evening meeting attendances would not be encouraged or supported other than the Area Assembly meetings. 2560. The WVCC is to charge local associations, including the parish council, for use of the rooms. Members considered the charge acceptable and reasonable, although it was noted the parish council chamber was originally given for the specific use of the parish council. 2561. RMBC has been liaising with Councillor Dickerson regarding the replacement/repair of stiles. It is understood RMBC will recharge the landowner. 2562. The HTJFC have requested use of the pitch for the coming season. Members agreed that it could be used on the same terms and conditions. 2563. A letter has been received from Wentworth Estates regarding the use of the Fitzwilliam crest on the newsletter and parking permits and asking if its use could be restricted. The letter also noted that the only article featuring the Estate appeared quite negative. 2564. A request to put a memorial bench in Wentworth has been received. Members proposed two options, to contact the vicar with a view to requesting a bench on church land or a bench on the playing field. Clerk to advise requestor Financial Matters 2565. It was noted that the second ticket machine for the car park has been approved at a site visit 2568. Further correspondence has taken place between the A6135 ARG and the coroner. It is understood the coroner is liaising with BMBC. 2569. The new speed restrictions along Cortworth Lane appear to be slowing the general traffic speed, but the has been a further accident. The Safer Neighbourhood team is to be contacted with a request to visit the area, in particular Nether Haugh 2570. A resident of Nether Haugh has raised concerns about the cleansing of the pavements. A request for cleansing to be made to RMBC 2571. A gritting map has been received from RMBC it was noted the Occupation Road is not on the schedule although it is a bus route. Clerk to clarify. Further information on refilling private grit bins to be requested. The matter to be raised at the next Street Pride meeting. 2572. A tactile road surface to be requested a the junction of Coach Road and Occupation Road as there seems to be a high incidence of near misses and hitting the nearby grit bin. 2573. A further meeting of the Harley car parking committee has taken place, little progress appears to have been made. RMBC are considering a plan to provide 18 spaces in the square. This is considered inadequate as there are 13 spaces already there. The cost per additional space would appear prohibitively high. 2574. It was noted that the repairs to Church Drive look unsightly. 2575. It was noted that horses are still on Back Lane . Wentworth Estate to be contacted with regard to improving the signage. 2576. Councillor Hales was thanked and congratulated on the recent newsletter. Open Forum 2577. The yellow lines on Main Street are faded, RMBC to be asked to refresh them and to completer the H sign outside Manor Farm. 2578. A litter pick to be requested around Nether Haugh at the junction of Cortworth Lane. 2579. It was noted electoral posters are still in the area. The Conservative party to be contacted regarding their removal. Next Meeting 2580. The next meeting was confirmed as the the 21st June 2010 at 6.30pm at the Mechanic's Institute.
